Description: body made of a young spruce tree trunk, halved lengthways, hollowed and put back together with resin, wrapped up in bark and secured with rings made of root; mouthpiece shaped by woodturning; conical duct
Decoration: body and mouthpiece stained brown

Performance practice: originally used for signalling, driving spirits away (mainly by shepherds); nowadays used by artists of the folk revival
